TonyMoly Tomatox Magic Massage Pack Review

Just recently, I received this TonyMoly Tomatox Magic Massage Pack from Q-Depot.com in the mail. If you are not familiar with the brand, TonyMoly is a South Korean brand, pretty popular in Asia for its cute packaging. The brand claims to be eco-friendly, and infused with organic and natural ingredients. They also claim that their products are not tested on animals. To be honest, I have not tried any TonyMoly products, so I was curious about this mask. As you all know, I’ve been using a certain mud mask on my weekly skincare ritual. I’ve also given face sheet masks a try in the Winter. So, I was very intrigued to give this mask a try!

I want to thank Q-depot for sending me this product! Q-depot is an online store that offers a wide range of Asian skincare, which includes Etude House, Laneige, Mamonde, Sulwhasoo etc. They do offer a free shipping worldwide with a min. order USD$69, and a 30-day free return! For anything below USD$69, Q-depot offers a very low flat rate shipping starting from USD$2.99 for most Asian countries. Q-depot ships their products directly from South Korea, and they are donating 3% of their net profit for social causes!

Before proceeding to give this mask a try, PLEASE do your research first! Know your skin, and please do a TEST PATCH before trying this all over your face. A test patch is when you apply the product in a small area of your skin to see if you are sensitive or if you have any irritation from the product. You can apply a test patch on your neck and leave the product for the next 24-48hr to see if you are sensitive to it. Our skins are all different from each other, so what works for me might not work for you. Please do your due diligence before trying any skincare product out.

Packaging

First of all, how cute is that packaging?! The TonyMoly Tomatox Magic Massage Pack comes in a tomato-shaped container. I absolutely love the way they package this mask. The mask comes with a spatula, which is awesome! A lot of masks sold over the counters don’t usually come with a spatula. The problem with those masks that have no spatula is that when you use your fingers to scoop the product out, bacterias/dirt will get into the mask. With the spatula, all you have to do is scoop the product out using the spatula, and thus eliminating any bacteria/dirt going into the mask. I recommend dipping the spatula in alcohol between each use.

Ingredients

Active ingredient: 30% glycerin.

Inactive Ingredients:
Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Water, Sorbitol, Titanium Dioxide, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol, Niacinamide, PVP, Squalane, Polysorbate 60, Pearl Powder, Coral Powder, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract , Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract , Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract , Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Saururus Chinensis Extract, Panthenol, Methylparaben, Carbomer, Arginine, Aluminum Hydroxide , Fragrance, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch , Propylparaben, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Mannitol, Sucrose, Tocopheryl Acetate.

Glycerin is an ingredient used to moisturize your skin. Glycerin can be found in moisturizer, soaps, and many other skincare products. Looking at the ingredients, my first impression is that this mask is going to be a moisturizing mask. It has fruit extracts, like lemon, kiwi, and obviously tomato, so I knew that this mask is loaded with Vit. C. If you don’t already know, Vit. C is important for your skin to combat aging. It also gives the skin a firmer and brighter appearance, coupled with several other benefits like reducing the appearance of brown spots and many more.

Usage

Scoop out a little bit of product, using the spatula provided, to your hand. I applied a thin layer of the mask all over my face, and massaged it to the skin for a minute as instructed. I left it on my skin for around 8-minute and then I rinsed it off with lukewarm water. The instruction says you can leave it on for 5-10mins, so feel free to leave it on for 10min if you feel the need to.

This Tomatox Magic Massage Pack mask is very thick and rich, so apply a thin layer to make it easier when you are rinsing it off. I love how when you massage it to the skin, it almost feels like it melts into the skin. It has a very refreshing scent, like cucumber.

This mask does not dry out, unlike mud mask. It will remain wet and moist on the skin, so you can talk, laugh, sneeze without having to worry about the mask cracking.

Post Rinsing

After I rinsed off the mask, I didn’t notice a huge difference. I just feel like my skin is a tad more firmer, and moisturized. Not sure if you can see in the after picture, but I feel like my pores on the cheeks look smoother after using the mask. I probably would used this mask more in the winter, when my skin is slightly more parched and dry. I did not experience any irritation after using this mask.

Price

You can get this Tomatox Magic Massage Pack for USD$14.87 (80 gram) at Q-Depot. Currently they are having a 10% off of this mask, so grab it for USD$13.38 before the sale ends!
