Pat McGrath Lust 004 Red Glitter Lips Tutorial

As mentioned on my IG Stories, today I’ll be sharing with you guys this gorgeous Glitter Red Lips using Pat McGrath Lust 004 Bloodwine Lip Kit. I actually bought this Bloodwine kit from her website, but as it turns out Sephora also carries them now! So, I also went ahead and bought the Everything kit, and now I have 2 Bloodwine kits. Anyways, watch the video below for the tutorial and a quick review on this lip kit. Read more below for more pictures and info regarding the Pat McGrath Lust 004.

So, the Pat McGrath Lust 004 Bloodwine kit comes with 2 lipsticks, 1 gold pigment, 1 microfine glitter and a clear vinyl gloss. The 2 lipsticks are called Blood 1 and Blood 2. Blood 1 is a cool red colour, while Blood 2 is a darker red. For today’s tutorial, I’m using Blood 1 since I wanted a red glitter lips look. The lipsticks are very creamy and glide very easily on the lips. I’m quite surprised at how creamy it is since I was expecting more of a matte, dry-type of lipstick. Love the lipsticks! So pigmented and buttery. It makes the lip application a breeze.

The gold pigment is so pretty, and it can be used everywhere. The microfine glitter for this kit is called Blood, and it’s a mixture of red and black glitters. If you can’t find this kit anymore, I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to find the dupe elsewhere. One dupe that comes to mind is actually MAC Glitters in Reflects Blackened Red. I have a feeling that it’s very similar or it could be exactly the same.

The clear vinyl gloss is just a lip gloss. It’s quite sticky, and a little goes a long way.

I do apologize if the pictures don’t do justice for the glitters. I just can’t seem to figure out how to make the glitters sparkle in pictures. Trust me, the glitters look so pretty in real life.

For the tutorial itself, I’m just creating a very simple eye makeup with fresh skin to compliment this glitter lips. I think the lips itself draws a lot of attention on the face, so I’m keeping everything else very toned down. I actually wasn’t going to put much eye makeup at all, but I couldn’t resist doing a thin winged liner.

Also, I’ve mentioned this on my IG Stories, I didn’t use any falsies for this look. Instead, I fell in love AGAIN with my old Chanel Inimitable mascara. I’ve used that mascara since 2005 or was it 2006..anyways, I’ve used that mascara a long time a go, and for some reason I stopped using it, probably because I’m too much of a product junkie and just wanted to try other mascara. Anyways, last month I decided it’s time for me to go back to my trustee Chanel Inimitable mascara, and went to buy it. Et voila! Long curly lashes that stayed for the whole day. Absolutely loving this mascara AGAIN!

Just a quick note on my foundation & concealer. I bought the Becca Aqua Luminous foundation in Spring, but never really pay much attention to it. Then just last week I decided to get the concealer as well. I started wearing this foundation-concealer combo, and I’m absolutely loving it. I think because the weather has gotten slightly colder, my skin is acting up a little. I love how this foundation makes my skin look – fresh and not too dewy. The concealer is similar to NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, but I think this one is better. It’s not as creamy as the NARS concealer, so once it sets, it doesn’t move as much. I’m really impressed with Becca’s Aqua Luminous Perfecting line.
