Have you always want to create your own custom perfume? Then you should definitely take a look at Demeter Fragrance! Demeter Fragrance carries over 300 scents that you can mix and match to create your own personal scent. How awesome is that??!!

The whole customized perfume/scent is a pretty new concept to me, so I had to really read into the information on the website before giving it a try. You can use the perfume individually OR you can blend and create your own personal scent. If you do want to create your own unique scent, you might want to read on about it more on their website. There’s so much information about blending fragrances on their website!

From what I gather from their Blending Basics information, if you do want to create your own personal scent, you might want to take several things into consideration. For example, perfumes consist of layers of scents (or as they call it, notes/accords). There are 3 notes – top, middle, bottom, which you can mix to create your own fragrance. The best part about Demeter Fragrance is that if you are a novice, like me, you can get their Foolproof Blending sets! Instead of wondering for hours which scents go together, if you get the Foolproof Blending set you can pretty much mix the scents together in any ratios until you mix the one you like. It makes it so much easier for you to create your own personal scent!

Anyways, so I received 2 Foolproof Blending sets from Demeter Fragrance. The first set is the Foolproof Base Note Blending Trio, which consists of 3 colognes – Hawaiian Vanilla, Angel Food, and Gingerbread, along with several tester strips. The second set is the Foolproof Blending Duo, which consists of Jasmine and Lavender, as well as an empty perfume bottle, 4 pipettes/droppers and a funnel.

The Foolproof Blending Trio fragrances that I received are, as the name suggested, very sweet smelling. It’s definitely not one I would pick for myself, personally. I don’t mind Hawaiian Vanilla, but Angel Food and Gingerbread are just a bit too sweet and too much. I tried mixing these 3 together and I do not like it. If you are someone who like cinnamon, vanilla scents may be this would work for you.

Now, for the Foolproof Blending Duo, Jasmine and Lavender scents are right up on my alley. I absolutely love these fragrances on its own! I love Jasmine on its own the most. I like the Lavender scent, but Jasmine is definitely my favorite. I did try mixing these 2 scents together, and it was okay. I did not love it, but it was not a bad combination.

So, since I was curious, I decided to mix several scents from the 2 sets together. I know I did not like Gingerbread, so I didn’t use it for the experiment. I tried to mix Angel Food and Lavender, and turned out it’s not a good combination. I, however, do like the combination of Hawaiian Vanilla, Jasmine and Lavender altogether. I, also, found out that I love the combination of  Hawaiian Vanilla and Jasmine! Surprisingly the combination of Vanilla and Lavender is not one that I prefer.

Anyways, all in all, the Demeter Fragrance library is definitely one you should check out if you are interested in personalizing your own scents. I would recommend that you look at your own favorite perfumes and see what kind of scents you prefer. Then, check out Demeter Fragrances to pick out the different fragrances according to what you like. That way, you can mix and match scents that are close to your favorite perfumes. Who knows, may be your friends and family might start asking you where they can buy YOUR perfume?!
